Why "just speed it up" doesn't work
Speeding a whole clip up to hit 0:30 raises the pitch and makes the read sound rushed and unnatural. Audio2Time takes the opposite approach: it first removes the dead air — the pauses between words and sentences — which usually recovers several seconds on its own. Only if the remaining speech is still longer than your target does it apply a small time-stretch that keeps the pitch unchanged. The voice sounds like the talent, just tightened to the slot.
